Privacy Policy
Summary
Extendesk does not create accounts, does not collect personal information of its own, and never sends your screen, audio or input to our servers. The picture travels only between your own PC and your own Android device. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, which can process some device data as described below.
Who we are
Extendesk is developed by an independent developer. Contact: support@extendesk.app.
What stays between your devices
When you use Extendesk, the Windows app captures a virtual monitor and sends the video, audio and touch input directly to your Android device over USB (through ADB) or your local network (UDP). This traffic does not go through any server of ours. Device names and network addresses used to find your PC on the local network are kept on your devices only.
Data stored on your devices
The apps store your settings (for example quality and display choices) and the list of PCs you have connected to, locally on your device and PC. We do not receive this data. Uninstalling the apps removes it.
Advertising (free version)
The free Android app uses Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, and information about your device and app usage, to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time in the app's settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. Seehow Google uses data from apps that use its services.
| Data | Who receives it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information | Google AdMob | Showing and measuring ads, fraud prevention |
| Crash and diagnostic data | Google AdMob | Measuring ad and app performance |
Permissions
The Android app uses network access and Wi-Fi state to find and connect to your PC, and keeps the screen awake while streaming. It does not request access to your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone or location.
Children
Extendesk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Because we do not hold personal information about you, there is normally nothing for us to access or delete. For data processed by Google AdMob, you can use your device's ad settings and Google's privacy controls. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under data-protection law (access, rectification, erasure, objection and complaint to your local authority); write to us if you want to exercise them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
